Fall is here! Finally. Goodbye, Summer. I hated you so much. You and your best buddy, humidity. I'm gladly welcoming the season of pumpkin flavored food, the beginning of the hockey season and sweater weather. Also, I can look forward to fall reading!
You see, I've been mostly caught up in this new detective series (well, new to me). It's about an ex-cop living in New York City. The man's name is Matt Scudder. Fueled by alcohol and an unstoppable quest to bring scumbags to justice, Matt moves through the seedy underbelly of the big apple. There are about 17 books in total and I've burned through the first 6. However, I'm on a self imposed break from the series. As much as I love the books, I want to be able to savor them and spread them out a little.
I'm also looking at reading Stephen King's new monstrosity, 11/23/63, due out November 8th. I had so much fun with his 2009 blockbuster release, Under the Dome, that I'm really looking forward to this one. This book basically deals with time travel and the moral question that comes along with it. If you could change a horrific event from happening, would you? Pretty excited as it's supposed to come in around 1,100 pages.
There's some other stuff I'm looking at too. Stephen King's son, Joe Hill, has two books I'd like to finally read. I'd also like to dive into some Douglas Coupland, see what he's all about. Also, I haven't read a graphic novel in quite some time and Y: The Last Man seems to be king on that front.
All in all, I have a few things I'm planning on reading. As mentioned before, I also plan on doing NaNoWriMo in November, so that should be interesting.

NaNoWriMo & Acting on Ambition.
In the past 4 years, I've taken quite the shine to reading. In fact, by the time this year ends, I'll have read more books in one year than I ever previously had. I've also absorbed myself into GoodReads, a website full of enthusiastic readers who have given me endless suggestions as well as a sense of belonging.
Which brings me to the whole point of this post. I love writing. I really do! Wait.. maybe I should clarify. I love other people's writing. As you know, I'm a large advocate for reading novels as well as encouraging friends who blog or regularly write. Other than writing reviews or blogging, I've never really written anything. There's this little corner buried deep in the back of my mind that is filled with ambition to write. I've decided that I really want to give this a shot.
Hey, I'm not really expecting anything fantastic, I just want to accomplish it. I basically want to start acting on my interests. There's no better time than the present to give this a shot.
